Part One-Virginia, Montpelier, Pamplin Park, Fort McHenry, and New York City

We traveled back east to visit our daughter, Deborah, in Virginia. From there we left on a week-long trip traveling over 2,000 miles to different sites. Some of the first places we traveled to were: Montpelier (James Madison's estate), Pamplin Park (site of the Seige of Petersburg during the last 10 months of the Civil War), Fort McHenry (where the national anthem was written), and New York City.
